BE NOT UNEQUALLY YOKED

msg
“And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”
-2 Corinthians 6:15-
In this prevailing world, where being marriage seems like the ultimate goal of most single ladies and even men, there is a tendency for Christians to succumb to any kind of marriage; just to fit in. However, notwithstanding the social, financial or parental pressures, it is important to stick with the Word; and that Word is very clear on not being unequally yoked with an unbeliever.
An unbeliever is someone who does not have the same Faith in Jesus Christ as you. So, it can be a non-Christian or a mere “church goer”. You must make up your mind never to allow anything lure you into a relationship with an unbeliever. If you fall to that, it would amount to building your home on faulty foundation.
I have seen so many vibrant Christians lose it to this deceit of the devil. They assume that they would be able to change their spouse during the marriage, but end up with sadly shocked. No one has the capacity to change any human; that is solely the responsibility of the Holy Spirit. Moreso, a Christian getting married to a non-Christian is disobedience to God’s Word.
In case you are a single Christian in a relationship with an unbeliever, you need to put a stop to it now, so it does not stop your destiny. Don’t let the devil deceive you into thinking there is nothing wrong with your choice. There is a world of difference between the life of a Christian and that of an unbeliever. However, for you to make this choice, you must be really sure of your salvation first.
Remember, you cannot play with fire and expect not to be burnt. Getting married to a true believer gives you the security of a lasting relationship, because even if there is an issue, it would always be resolved the godly way. Don’t get caught in a web; detangle yourself today from every ungodly union. Your marriage will not dishonour God in the name of Jesus Christ!
Remain Blessed!
