YOUR MARRIAGE AND THE ROCK

msg
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
-James 1:22-
Every house is as strong as its foundation, and the foundation to every marriage should be the Word of God. However, your foundation is laid according to the blueprint of how you want your marriage to be. If your expectation is to enjoy the honour and glory in marriage, you have to do according to what the Scriptures show will make for honour. The doing of God’s Word is what lays the foundation for a fulfilled family life.
The reason behind the tantrums in some Christian homes today is that most couples know God’s Word concerning marriage, understanding their various duties, but are not willing to go by them. Knowing what the Word says is not enough; it is doing it that brings the peace and blessings you desire (James 1:22).
Just like a builder puts block upon block to make a house, you should put God’s Word line upon line, precept upon precept, to make a strong and lasting home. Although that does not excuse you from all challenges, it gives you an anchor that prevents you from falling. The more of God’s Word that is stored in your heart, the more restful you become.
There is a cost for peace in the family, and that cost involves locating God’s Word and following it strictly. Those who follow God’s Word never get lost in life. It is the only sure foundation that cannot be destroyed by any storm, no matter how strong it may be. My heart desire for you is that as you locate and apply every principle on marriage from the Word of God, your home becomes joyful, loving and peaceful.
Remain Blessed!
