The reports from Daily Mail claim, that Chelsea’s long time target John Stones has refused to sign a new contract with Everton unless a £38 million release clause is included in the deal.
Speculation surrounding the 21-year-old’s future was rife throughout the summer window, fuelled by incrementally more lavish bids from the Blues as well as a rejected transfer request from the defender himself.
As the Mail reports, a new contract for the England central defender will see his £30,000-per-week wages bolstered to at least double that if he is to commit his future to the Merseyside club.
