Chelsea and Man City preparing to fight for defensive wonderkid’s signature

Chelsea and Manchester City are expected to battle it out for the signature of Valencia’s Jose Gaya, according to the Metro.

The defender was on the radar of the Premier League champions and Man City during the summer, but no bid is believed to have been made before the window closed.
The 20 year-old signed a new contract with Valencia toward the end of last season, having played a key role in guiding them into the Champions League places.
The young left-back is now expected to be the subject of moves by the two English giants, while Real Madrid are also interested in his signature.
Chelsea did sign Baba Rahman in the summer, but Branislav Ivanovic has come under scrutiny this term, and Cesar Azpilicueta could return to the right, which could leave the new signing without competition for the left-hand role.
City and the West-London club are also claimed to be set to battle it out for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
